The in-line MFK servo multi knife machine showing a five knife configuration producing cardboard cores or tubes with absolute length accuracy. Producing a diameter range of 35mm to 200mm with wall thicknesses in the range of 1mm to 20mm and up to 32 paper plies. Allen Bradley/Rockwell technology powers the drives and controls package giving the ultimate in performance, quality and reliability. Each knife unit is individually servo operated, enabling fine adjustments via the touch screen keypad. Knife setup is automatic; once the core inner diameter is selected each knife unit will teach itself the correct cutting position. Servo control is fitted to the inner mandrel drive as well as the outer support rollers which automatically position themselves for the programmed inner diameter and wall thickness. The clear safety doors allow rapid inspection of the complete machine at any time, while the tunnel guarding automatically positions to each new programmed diameter ensuring an operator is not able to reach any moving parts inside the machine.
