2026 Leesburg Airshow - RJ Gritter

The busiest airshow pilot in the 2026 Leesburg Airshow was RJ Gritter, who flew not once but THREE times. RJ first flew his comedy act, then flew the Stearman for The Flying Circus and their wingwalking act, and now in this video he's flying his signature aerobatic act in the Decathlon. The 2026 Leesburg Airshow took place on Saturday September 26, 2026 at the Leesburg Executive Airport, with all video shot on that day, which was VERY windy due to the presence of a powerful early season nor'easter battering the coasts of Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and points north. This year's airshow was flown in tribute to two great aviators and airshow performers that have performed at Leesburg in the past who had gone west: Chuck Tippett and Mark Meredith. As stated for the 2026 airshow season, ICAS has negotiated a deal that will allow issuance of music licenses for ICAS member air shows for all three US music licensing organizations: ASCAP, BMI, and SESAC. Each ICAS member air show is eligible for a single package of the three music licenses for one air show at the cost of $770 for a one (1) day air show; $1,100 for a two (2) day air show; $1,375 for a three (3) day air show; $1,650 for a four (4) day air show; $1,925 for a five (5) day air show, $2,200 for a six (6) day air show; $2,475 for a seven (7) day air show, and $2,750 for an eight (8) day air show. The rate applies only to music broadcast over the public address system during the public air show portion of the program (not practice/rehearsal/closed to the public days) and does not provide the air show with the right to use pre-recorded music at concerts or other non-air show special events held in conjunction with the air show.
