DieveNoire - Preacher

album: Story of The Gunslinger production: Top Floor Studios released: September 5, 2025 Lyrics: I went outside to catch a ray or two of the sun But I got burnt instead again I hid down in the shadow of the willow that weeps And heard my name called out somewhere I looked up to the hill up top There was a small church ringing the bell A priest showed up behind my back And asked me calmly - join the mass today I turned my head to him, He looked deep in my eyes He crossed his fingers saying “Go back to demise!” So run, preacher, run.. I gave a little thought about the preacher’s request And figured, what the hell, why not Not even couple miles for this holy quest So I don’t mind to hike up fast Somebody told me earlier there’s a nice little perk If you show up to church on time They pour their wine in chalice and drink it at the mass So heavens know I'm down for a glass I entered wooden doors, asked if party’s on But the preacher and the congregation ran through back door So run, preacher, run… There ain’t no any morals to the story I shared Just slightly disappointed that they hid what they had I have built my appetite for some good ol’ wine Oh damn you preacher, share some spirit of your shrine
