Miniature Vehicles | Dinky Toys

Miniature Vehicles | Dinky Toys | Meccano Ltd | Vintage Toy Collection Dinky Toys are amongst the most popular diecast toys ever produced by Meccano Ltd. Produced in England from 1934 to 1979 these miniature vehicles hold many fond childhood memories for those old enough to remember! The creator of Meccano was Frank Hornby (Hornby Trains) who established the company in 1908. One popular story about the origin of the "Dinky" name is that one of Hornby's daughters-in-law first saw the models, she called them "dinky", a Scottish word meaning "neat" or "fine". We stock an extensive collection of Dinky Toys with many listed on our website.
