RIVER WYE BARBEL FISHING (Nice Catch)

Welcome back to Poachy & Gym! We’re back on the river, this time taking a trip down to the legendary River Wye for some proper barbel fishing action. After our success on the Severn (make sure to check out that 'Severn Chub Madness' video!), we wanted to target the big barbel on the Wye. We set up on the historic Lower Bishopswood beat, an ancient crossing point with some serious barbel history. The original plan was all about float fishing and trotting meat along the gravel, but the Wye is never simple! With the river being up and massive trees causing total nightmares, we had to ditch the float rods. We switched tactics to target the deeper water with feeder rods. Watch the video to see how it went—we landed a stunning 7lb Barbel and 3 proper Chub using meat, plus cheese & garlic boilies. It turned into an absolute day of madness.
