It takes more than good grades to build a fulfilling and successful future. Self-understanding, self-advocacy, and the confidence they engender are key elements to success. In this webinar, we will discuss how you can support the development of these and other important traits in your own child, whether their aspirations are academic or vocational. While especially pertinent for parents of middle and high school students with Learning Disabilities, this information is also relevant for those with younger children; it is never too early to start building your child up for success! As a parent who raised a child with dyslexia, Jan will share her tips and insights on helping your own child develop skills that will increase their chances for a smoother transition to life after high school.
Speaker: Jan Tuber, M.A.
Jan has over 25 years of experience in the field of learning disabilities supporting families and empowering students. Jan served on the California Dept. of Education’s AB 1369 Committee to develop state-wide dyslexia program guidelines. She is also a parent of a college graduate with dyslexia. Jan worked at PHP for 15 years as an assistive technology specialist.
