Hey everyone, your favorite gamer girl back here again with Final Fantasy Resonance!For those who don’t know, Final Fantasy Resonance is Square Enix’s brand-new HD-2D turn-based RPG. It’s basically a full single-player reimagining of the first story arc from the old mobile game Final Fantasy Brave Exvius. You play as Rain and the crew protecting the world’s crystals, calling on Visions of classic Final Fantasy characters like Cloud and the Warrior of Light to fight alongside you. Beautiful pixel art, classic turn-based combat with a modern stagger system, chocobos, airships, the whole nostalgic package — no gacha, no live service, just a proper Final Fantasy adventure.Speaking of the mobile version… a lot of you probably remember Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, the gacha game that was on Android and iOS for years. I played the hell out of that back in the day and almost collected every character. Honestly, I can’t even remember if the servers are still up or not — it’s been so long. If anyone knows whether the old gacha version is still running, drop it in the comments! If it is, I might even download it again and stream that too.Anyway, I checked out the demo for Final Fantasy Resonance and had an absolute blast. The segment I played was so much fun that I completely changed my mind — I’m picking this game up for sure. Bosses felt pretty easy on Normal, but there is a harder difficulty if you want more of a challenge. I’ve played Final Fantasy games before, and this one really brought all those memories flooding back.I’ll probably livestream myself playing the full game when it drops next month (October 22). I’m grabbing it on PC, and I’m leaning toward GOG instead of Steam because once you buy it there, you actually own it permanently with no licensing nonsense.If I do end up streaming it, I hope you’ll come hang out with me!
