Following the raw, foundational live recordings produced by Percy Yip Tong at Studio Korail, the Mauritian visionary KAYA was ready to bring his new genre to the world. SEGGAE MAN is the landmark 1992 studio album that captured this sound in a newly polished form. Produced by Gaëtan Valentin, this is the sound of KAYA at the peak of his powers, backed by the legendary Racinetatane. Sung primarily in Mauritian Creole, the album also features two powerful English-language tracks, "Sun Love" and "Spirit Seggae Musik," reflecting the genre's international influences. For years, this iconic album has been a treasured artifact but hard to find in high quality.
