1977 Sri Sri Prabhupada Padma Stavakah-Akincana Krishna Das Babaji

A historical recording captured in Sridham Mayapur on January 20, 1977, featuring Akiñcana Kṛṣṇa Dāsa Bābājī Mahārāja accompanied by Jaya Sacinandana das (ACBSP). In this intimate session, Babaji Maharaj sings a celebrated Sanskrit modern Gaudiya Vaishnava hymn: Śrī Śrī Prabhupāda-Padma-Stavakaḥ ("Prayers unto the Lotus Feet of Śrīla Prabhupāda"), composed by his godbrother Śrīla Bhakti Rakṣak Śrīdhara Deva-Goswāmī Mahārāja in glorification of their spiritual master, Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura. The Atmosphere & Flow of the Recording The recording opens with Babaji Maharaj's heartfelt invocatory guru-praṇāma prayers, entreating Sri Guru as the ocean of mercy (karuṇaikasindho) and friend of the fallen (dīna-bandho), begging for his mind to remain fixed at the lotus feet of Sri Krishna. Babaji Maharaj then leads the stotra verse by verse in a sweet, traditional Nadia cadence. Jaya Sacinandana follows in reverent call-and-response, joining in the resonant refrain: praṇamāmi sadā prabhu-pāda-padam "Eternally do I bow down to the lotus feet of my master, Srila Prabhupada." Following the final verse, the kirtan quickens with the crisp ring of kartals as Babaji Maharaj transitions into a jubilant, rhythmic acclamation of "Jaya Prabhupada! Jaya Prabhupada!", honoring the guru parampara before concluding with ecstatic calls of "Jaya Gurudeva!" and "Gaura Haribol!".
