Melissa Love, who has been with Sundt for about 12 years says one of the reasons why she loves Sundt so much is because of their diverse portfolio and how they work at finding new ways to build and create. As Project Controls Manager, Melissa sits by the Director of Innovation and works closely with the frontline construction technologies group. It was our partnership with Sundt that guided us into building our flagship estimating software DESTINI Estimator. How did You Become an Estimator? Melissa was at Georgia Tech getting her degree in Civil Engineering and interning for another general contractor when she decided that though she knew she wanted to build, that path wasn’t the right one for her. She wanted to switch her major to architecture; however, her father said “no.” Though she didn’t pursue architecture and went into preconstruction, Melissa says she gets to work very closely with the design team at Sundt. Melissa’s role was developed to help meet Sundt’s five-year goals in once again becoming a leader in innovation and focusing on preconstruction technology. She oversees the California and Southwest offices of Sundt to create consistency and encourage innovation in those offices’ precon teams.
