The snow is melting in the Tien Shan, and the first green shoots are back in a remote Kyrgyz mountain village.
While meltwater runs through the village and the animals return to pasture, the family gathers the first wild spring greens — then makes kesme from scratch: dough mixed and rested, rolled into a sheet, noodles cut by hand, and a hot broth with the fresh greens, served steaming at the wooden table.
No talking. No music. Only the natural sounds of spring — water, wind, animals and fire.
