Humminbird Helix 7 Software Update Problem & Fix

When you register your new Humminbird Helix 7 Fishfinder online at the Humminbird site, they recommend that you install the software update. You will download the software update and place it on a microSD card and slide the card into the Helix 7 fishfinder. A window will pop up taking you through the steps. You will need to use the large round button on your Helix 7 to toggle and make the software update. My big round button wouldn't toggle left or right and I couldn't update the software. I got on a chat with a Humminbird Rep and they weren't much help. I don't think the lady understood my problem. Well I found a cure that worked for me and I explain it in this video. Turns out I had to power the fishfinder on and let it go into demo mode before I put in the microSD card. When I did that, the toggle worked and I was able to update the software on the Helix 7 SI GPS. Hope this helps you out if you experience the same problem.
