The golden fields of Kashmir are coming alive with the rice harvest. 🌾 i travelled to Kangan in Ganderbal, Jammu & Kashmir, to experience Koshur Tamul — Kashmiri rice — right where the story begins: in the fields.For generations, rice has been an important part of life, food and agricultural culture in Kashmir. In Kashmiri, the terminology itself follows the journey of the crop: paddy growing in the field is known as shali, and after husking, it becomes tumul/tomul. In this cinematic Kashmir vlog, I step into the fields with local farmers and experience the traditional Kashmir rice harvesting season firsthand — cutting, gathering and handling the golden crop against the mountains of Ganderbal.
