Out With the New, In With the Old | Predator Z2 Shaft Ferrule Replacement

Out with the new and in with the old. In this video, I remove a colored red acrylic ferrule from a Predator Z2 shaft and replace it with a traditional white ferrule. The owner wanted to eliminate the red acrylic and return the shaft to a more conventional appearance. I also install a new ZAN tip to complete the repair. It is important to note that this shaft had previously been modified from its original factory configuration. Someone had plugged the hollow portion of the shaft and added a .250-inch tenon. Since that modification had already been made, I worked with the existing tenon rather than attempting to return the shaft to its original construction. This video demonstrates the repair process and several techniques that can also be applied to other ferrule and tip replacements using a Mid-America Cue Lathe.
