In 'Messenger of Death,' Charles Bronson steps in as a rugged, no-nonsense, gun-toting reporter digging into the brutal massacre of an entire Mormon family. The film opens with a shocking shotgun slaughter that’ll jolt any viewer wide awake, but from there it settles into a surprisingly entertaining and tightly made thriller. The cinematography, camerawork, score, and acting are all solid, and Bronson—despite looking roughly a century old by this point—still stomps around with total authority and the greatest head of hair ever put on film. Sadly, there are no sleazy femme-fatale moments, no nudity, and no gorehounds’ buffet of blood and guts. But even without the exploitation trimmings, it delivers a satisfying, well-paced mystery with a crowd-pleasing finale tailor-made for fans of old-school revenge thrillers. A strong late-era Bronson entry and absolutely worth a spin. Check out my other movie reviews. I discuss classic adult films, stupid action movies, sleazy cheesy cult exploitation, and sick gory satanic horror movies. Also, I have a cute pup, Menia, who sometimes makes appearances and bosses me around, but that's okay, cos' he's my spirit animal. Help me grow my channel! Subscribe. Join the club.
