Lumina is a complete lighting overhaul for Skyrim featuring latest advancements in modding. Including Shadow Limit Fix, Light Placer, Inverse Square Lighting, and Luma Utility.
This showcase was made with only Lumina and Window Shadows Ultimate. There's no E11 or Jiaye's PP applied to the clips.
EDIT:
Since I can't pin comments without giving google my face, I'll provide the FAQ comment here:
Oh wow, I didn't think this was going to blow up so quickly. Thank you all for the kind words, I'll try to answer some frequent questions I've seen in the comments and sticky this post
1. Yes it will require either Community Shaders, Open Shaders, or Bottled Shaders - they're what enable the shadow limit fix to be possible.
2. If the clips seem too dark to you, there are options for different ambient templates. Lumina is also fully compatible with both Ambient Templates for Lighting Mods and Helios, which will both override Lumina's templates where applicable.
3. Lumina differs from True Light in that I've gone through every cell by hand and attached lights to each source (candle, fire, etc) with differing bulbs depending on location. True Light attaches one bulb for each type of source, no matter the cell. Lumina also has shadow casters on most sources.
4. Lumina is loosely based on ELFX, from which I've pulled only bulb settings and placed statics (sources/effects) from. Most custom meshes which ELFX needed to bypass the light limit have been removed which brings drawcalls down significantly in some areas.
5. Performance seems fine from what people have tested so far. I play at 1440p with a 3080ti and DLSS Quality w/ framegen and get 120fps everywhere with a 1k plugin modlist. Measurable performance difference due to shadow limit fix is about 1-1.5ms gpu time and 400mb vram at 4K shadow map resolution depending on the scene. I suspect anything equal to or better than a 3060 would run Lumina fine as long as you don't go overboard on interior/exterior overhauls.
6. This won't replace Lux for most people. Lux is fully featured and been around for a while, and while I strive to bring Lumina to Lux's quality in both lighting and patches available, it will take a lot of time. I've already poured almost a year of my free time into creating this.
