Some castles were built to protect kings.
Others became prisons for the dead.
Tonight on Nikki’s Nightmares, we enter three of the world’s most haunted castles—ancient fortresses shaped by war, betrayal, imprisonment, execution, and centuries of human suffering.
Behind their towering walls and locked chambers are stories of headless queens, murdered princes, phantom prisoners, ghostly animals, sealed tunnels, and restless spirits that may never have escaped the places where they died.
From the blood-soaked courtyards of the Tower of London… to the underground passages and haunted dungeons of Edinburgh Castle… to the elegant halls of Dragsholm Castle, where more than one hundred ghosts are said to remain… these ancient strongholds may contain far more than history.
Because some walls do not simply remember the dead.
They imprison them.
Inside this episode:
🏰 The Tower of London and the prisoners who may have never truly left
👑 The headless apparition of Anne Boleyn wandering near Tower Green
🪓 The screams of Margaret Pole echoing across an ancient execution ground
👦 The frightened spirits believed to be the missing Princes in the Tower
🐻 A phantom bear that reportedly terrified a guard to death
🕯️ The Nameless Thing that follows warders through the darkness
🎵 A lost bagpiper whose music still rises from beneath Edinburgh’s streets
🥁 The Headless Drummer Boy said to warn the castle before war
🔥 The restless spirits of those accused of witchcraft and burned outside Edinburgh Castle
🐕 A shadowy black dog continuing its silent patrol among the graves
👻 Dragsholm Castle, where more than one hundred ghosts are said to wander
⚪ The White Lady and the skeleton discovered sealed inside a castle wall
🌫️ The Grey Lady, a servant believed to still protect the ancient fortress
🚰 Water taps, mirrors, doors, and footsteps moving without explanation
These castles have survived invasions, royal conspiracies, executions, torture, and war.
Their prisoners are gone.
Their battles have ended.
Their execution grounds have grown silent.
But when the final visitors leave and darkness settles over the towers, something inside these fortresses appears to awaken.
Footsteps move through empty corridors.
Bagpipes drift from sealed tunnels.
Headless figures cross moonlit courtyards.
And pale faces appear inside rooms that have been locked for centuries.
The history books may tell us how these people died.
But they cannot explain why some of them still seem to be there.

Some castles were designed to keep enemies out.
Others were built to keep prisoners in.
And even after centuries have passed…
Some of those prisoners may still be waiting behind the walls.
