Rubatano plays 'Mhondoro' @ Dance with the Moon 2026

Our 2026 Spring Concert Dance with the Moon celebrates the life and legacy of Martha Thom Mafuleni, a powerful woman, musician, dancer, and community leader. Martha died tragically in an auto accident on July 28, 2023. Dzivarasekwa 2, a high-density township outside of Harare, is home to many talented young people who lack opportunities to develop and share their gifts. Without constructive outlets, some are drawn into harmful activities such as drug abuse and prostitution, while many school-aged children face economic barriers that limit access to basic needs like education and food. In response, Martha and her husband Jacob founded this project together. Tsoro Arts seeks to uplift lives by creating a safe, supportive environment grounded in equality, fairness, and self-expression. Its mission is to provide accessible training in mbira, marimba, hosho (shakers), drumming, dance, and traditional songs. Founded in 2013, Tsoro Arts continues its work today in honor of Martha’s memory.
