2026 F1 CAR PHYSICS TEST AT MONZA — rFactor 1 This is Part 2 of my ongoing test of a virtual 2026 Formula 1 car in rFactor 1. After the initial shakedown run at Monza, this session focuses on the car with Energy Deployment and MOM enabled, allowing us to evaluate the performance of the car with its electrical energy system properly implemented in the simulation. The MOM status and energy deployment can be seen directly on the steering wheel display during the lap. IMPORTANT: this is a virtual simulation project. The car is NOT an official Formula 1 car or an official 2026 F1 model. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ PHYSICS DEVELOPMENT The starting physics package was already very good. According to Olliver from CHT Modding, the original physics were developed with the VRC Formula Alpha Assetto Corsa project as a reference, adapted as far as possible to the available data and the rFactor 1 platform. However, during our testing we identified several areas where the original data did not accurately correspond with the real-world characteristics we were trying to reproduce. Working on the car with our physics engineer, we made a number of modifications to the physics package. These included changes to: • Vehicle dynamics • Engine characteristics • Power delivery • Energy deployment • Tyre behaviour • Grip and mechanical balance • Braking behaviour • Acceleration characteristics • Overall performance balance The objective was not simply to make the car faster. The goal was to bring the virtual car closer to the characteristics expected from a modern 2026-spec Formula 1 car, while keeping the behaviour believable and consistent within the limitations of rFactor 1. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ENERGY DEPLOYMENT & MOM One of the major differences between this test and the previous run is the implementation of the electrical energy system. During the first Monza test, MOM and Battery Deploy were not enabled, which resulted in significantly reduced performance. For this second test, the energy deployment system is active. The steering wheel display provides a visual reference for the current energy deployment and MOM status while driving. This allows us to evaluate not only the combustion engine performance, but also how the additional electrical power affects: • Acceleration • Top speed • Exit speed • Energy usage • Lap performance • Driver workload The purpose of this test is therefore not simply to chase the fastest possible lap. We are interested in understanding how the different systems interact with the car and how much they influence its behaviour around a circuit such as Monza. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ THE MONZA TEST Monza is particularly useful for this kind of test because of its combination of: • Long full-throttle sections • Heavy braking zones • Low-drag setup requirements • High-speed acceleration • Traction-limited exits • Significant importance of power deployment The first sector and the run down the long straights provide a useful environment for evaluating acceleration and energy deployment, while the heavy braking zones allow us to examine how the revised car behaves under braking and during corner entry. This is still an ongoing development process. The physics are being tested, compared and refined rather than presented as a definitive representation of a real 2026 Formula 1 car. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ MOD CREDIT The original 2026 Formula 1 mod was created by CHT Modding. I purchased the mod from CHT Modding and have not created the original car model or mod. Credit goes to CHT Modding for the original mod and its development. The custom livery used in this project is separate from the original mod. The physics shown in this test have subsequently been modified and developed as part of our own testing work. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ More sim racing, simulator technology, realistic driving, physics experiments and racing hardware: 👉 https://www.f1simulatormaniac.com/ Driven by Passion, Engineered for Precision. #rFactor1 #SimRacing #F12026
