My Progression of playing the Ukulele for 1 year.

[October of 2025 Starts at 0:00, October of 2026 starts at 1:51] What's sup everyone, I've been playing the Ukulele for a year now, (DISCLAIMER: I DID NOT CHOOSE THE UKULELE..... THE UKULELE CHOSE ME 😂) This desire came from the Lord to grow closer to Jesus Christ. In learning how to worship the Lord in Spirit and in truth. (John 4:23–24.) I starting with absolutely zero experience on string instruments but I did play the keyboard when I was younger. Around 2014 when I was about 12 years old my mom got this beautiful red with a saturated orange spot, Ukulele for me. I named her Miriam lol based off of the red sea where Miriam (Moses' sister) were leading the children of Israel out of Egypt WITH PRAISE using these tambourines and singing and dancing (Exodus 15:20-21). I actually tried to play the ukulele back then (2014) but it really hurt my fingers lol. (Those black nylon strings are made out of rocks 😂😂 IYKYK) SO I totally forgot about that thing after a few years of it lying around and looking pretty lol. Around September of 2025, I found it at the Bride of Christ, where my family and I have church. My younger siblings had played around with it at some point. It was missing a string so I took it home and messed around with it. I was mostly oblivous to how string instruments worked other than the basic C Chord and A minor Chord, that every beginner ukulele player knows lol. So for a few weeks, I was playing a 3 string-ed Hawaii guitar and... NOT GONNA LIE... IT was one of the most strangely satisfying things I've ever done...Although, it was extremely uncomfortable and different. I didn't care about that tho. I fell in love with the bounciness of the ukulele strings and the subtle BUT sustaining ring it makes in the air. The way it connects with the child like part of your soul. I began to pluck and strum as much as I could (don't be greedy or those strings will hurt you lol) and I never looked back. (MY FINGERS DIDN'T HURT AS BAD) so I said all that to begin to give you all what the Lord has given me. God is good, and what the Lord has called you to do may already be lying around your house or in your environment wherever that may be. And ultimately anybody who was in the Sunshine band or sunday school should KNOW what this Scripture means Matthew 5:16 "Let your light so shine, before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your father, which is in Heaven." and what we are called to do in Christ! Shout out Ms. Lucille. It's not about the gift, the skill, the talent, the posessions. It's about the love that God has for every one of us, and will we choose to love him back and accept the grace that God gives us through his son. He knows we will fall short, He knows we will fail. But God did not leave us to die. Your shortcomings, your burdens, your heartaches and heartbreaks, your pain. He KNOWS. HE SEES YOU. But God does not want to leave you there. If you are reading this, it is because God is calling you by name. Accept your purpose, walk in the light as HE is Light. Walk in Love as HE is Love. Let the Holy Spirit of God, help you to break free from the cycles of sin in the world, the cycles of sin that the enemy tries to chain you to.
