How to remove a 1994 Saturn head gasket (Part-2 of 2)

This video is about the Saturn head gasket repair. Start with removing the oil filter to drain the oil. Use a 14mm socket to remove bolts at the bottom of the oil pan. With the motor mount removed I can move the engine 12" allowing more access to the timing cover bolts & pulleys. There are four 8mm bolts. Rest it on the old motor mount. A rubber hammer will help break loose the timing cover. A putty knife will break loose the seal where it connects to the oil pan. It's just RTV sealant. Work on it to loosen. Spray some liquid wrench down on the alignment pins to help break it loose. Gingerly use a pry bar. Careful to not get stuck on the alignment pins. There's an EGR valve. Remove cable and clips and two connectors; get those out of the way. Now we're going to work on the intake manifold. 13mm bolts - 4 on top and 4 on the bottom and an extra bolt required to remove in order to slide it back. Used a 3" and 6" with a bendable ratchet. Remove the timing chain tensioner. the maximum is 70 thounsand's and we're at .46 so we're good. Wired gear to the chain. 4mm Allen wrench. 15mm breaks bolt loose. Wiggle off. There are ten 2mm bolts on the head. Start at the corners and work towards the center. 1/4 turn. Pull it free and clear. You can see all the coolant jacks. Found the problem on the seal; it's swollen. Comparing the new gasket seal you can see how it's flat. There's a hair line fracture and cracks are visible. We're going to clean it up and inspect the engine cylinders. Put the car back together in reverse order. Took about 8 hours hands on work.
