During that visit, Garret McLean, the junior manager of the farm, told me that an extraordinary new machine combination would arrive in 2026 and that I absolutely had to come back to film it. Well... here we are! What you are seeing in this video is one of the most powerful and impressive farming combinations currently operating anywhere in the world. The John Deere 9RX 830 is currently the largest and most powerful production tractor ever built by John Deere. Powered by the massive 18-liter JD18 engine, it delivers up to 913 horsepower and enormous torque to handle the largest implements in modern agriculture. With its four-track undercarriage, advanced precision farming systems, and an operating weight exceeding 30 tonnes, the 9RX 830 is designed specifically for large-scale farming operations across North America. Behind the tractor is one of the newest and largest Bourgault Air Drills currently available on the market. With an incredible working width of 100 feet (30.5 meters), this seeding system is built for maximum efficiency, allowing farmers to cover vast acreages in the shortest possible time while maintaining excellent seed placement and field performance. Personally, I believe this is about as large as modern production agriculture machinery can get today. Of course, legendary machines such as the Big Bud 747 or gigantic custom-built 200+ foot air drills are even larger, but those are extremely rare one-off machines. When it comes to regular production equipment that farmers can actually purchase from manufacturers, this John Deere 9RX 830 and 100ft Bourgault Air Drill combination is very close to the absolute limit.
