Wildfires burning near the North Rim of the Grand Canyon have destroyed multiple structures, including the historic Grand Canyon Lodge, which stood as a landmark since the 1920s. The Dragon Bravo and White Sage fires have ravaged the area since early July, significantly impacting the landscape and local infrastructure, including a critical water treatment facility. Author and Grand Canyon expert Roger Naylor joined “Arizona Horizon” to discuss the devastation caused by the fires, the cultural loss of the lodge, and the response from state and federal officials. Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs, along with Senators Mark Kelly and Ruben Gallego, are urging the U.S. Interior Department to investigate the management of the wildfires.
