Three days after a Bumble date, she was found dead in her own apartment on December 12, 2021. Her family didn't learn she was gone from a police officer they learned from a note taped to her door by the landlord. The medical examiner's ruling: an accident, caused by a mix of fentanyl, promethazine, hydroxyzine, and alcohol. Her family has never accepted that answer. And the physical evidence that might have settled it a pill left on the counter, glasses, the bedsheets sat untouched in that apartment for roughly two and a half weeks. The last man known to have seen her alive was never swabbed for DNA. He has never been charged. That same day, in the same city, 53-year-old Brenda Lee Rawls also died. Her family wasn't called either.
