Lake State Railway ALCOs and MLWs (1990s)

During the 1990s and early 2000s, Michigan’s Lake State Railway became a haven for vintage ALCO and MLW locomotives, including those inherited from its predecessor, the Detroit & Mackinac, as well as units acquired from other railroads shortly after the company’s formation. In this video, filmed by Joseph VonGrey, you'll see a variety of these rare locomotives around Bay City and points north, beginning in the final days of the Detroit & Mackinac era. I've done my best to restore the original VHS tapes, though some visual artifacts remain due to their poor condition. I've also included a few lower-quality clips toward the end of the video that were sourced from a DVD.
