Reference documentation for the STATS_PEARSON function of the ALS Stats add-on for Google Sheets: the Pearson correlation r of two columns with df, p and the confidence interval, and a correlation matrix with significance stars, shown on one dataset.
00:00 Function overview and scope
00:23 Basic two-column Pearson test
00:40 Parameters description
01:04 Output structure and meaning
01:52 Full correlation matrix for all tests
02:34 Select a subset via negative rules
02:54 Use regex to select columns by name
03:11 Change confidence level of intervals
03:28 Switch to one-sided greater alternative
03:50 Switch to one-sided less alternative
04:12 Typical errors and constraints
04:16 Unknown column name in colFilter
04:50 Too few numeric columns after filtering
05:19 Invalid confidence level outside 0–1
05:51 Invalid alternative hypothesis value
06:20 Summary
The video shows the two-column report, the correlation matrix and the table of every pair, which columns colFilter selects (names, all, an exclusion, a regex), a 90% confidence level and the one-sided alternatives greater and less.
Four errors close the video: an unknown column, only one column selected, a confidence level outside 0 to 1 and an unknown alternative. Not included: the theory of correlation.
