Car Camera - Lincoln, NE - UNL City Campus to College View . 2013 ( ネブラスカ州リンカーン )

On today's trip, we go from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln's City Campus here in Lincoln, Nebraska, U.S.A., to the College View area by Union College. We begin at a combobulation of roads on UNL's city campus and eventually head down 16th Street. On UNL's Master Plan, soon to be approved, this stretch of road will become come a two way street (I believe). Best look at what it looks like now while you get the chance :p ! Also, along this stretch, we pass by the Neihardt Complex... a honors student residential hall that is supposedly haunted. It was once one of Lincoln's first hospitals 100-or-so years back... We eventually get into downtown Lincoln where we pass by the State Capitol, Pershing Auditorium (soon to be retired, maybe) and the Federal Building. Continuing south, we eventually run into Bryan West Medical Center before turning onto South St. Then off of South Street we turn onto Sheridan Boulevard. Old money on this street. This was where the mansions resided back in the old days and even today. A trolley line once ran all the way from downtown to & through the center of Sheridan Blvd. and down to College View. Nebraska Highway 2 this once was. A nice street to drive on and wonder about all of the big houses ~_~ ..... Eventually we wind our way to the Union College/College View Area. We mainly bypass the college and the former small town itself. At the end of our journey, we nearly run into the base of the Holmes late dam! Hope you enjoy the ride and thanks for watching! Timeline: 00:24 - Southbound on N. Antelope Valley Parkway. The main part of the University of Nebraska @ LIncoln City Campus is on the right (although we have already entered campus). 00:38 - Southbound on N. 17th Street. 00:40 - N. 17th St. comes from the left (not really seen), now westbound on "X" St. 1:13 - Southbound on N. 16th St. 1:41 - Vine St. intersection. A good amount of fraternities and sororities are along this street just beyond this intersection. 2:09 - The dome of the Nebraska State Capitol can be seen in between the trees on the right side of the road. 2:43 - Leaving UNL. Entering Downtown Lincoln (have already entered about a block ago). 2:47 - "P" St. intersection. Lincoln's U.S. Federal Building is on the right after the in. 2:58 - "O" St. (U.S. Highway 34) intersection. N. 16th becomes S. 16th St. here. 3:10 - "N" Street intersection. The back side of Pershing Auditorium is on the right after the intersection. 3:57 - "K" St. intersection. The Nebraska State Capitol is on the right after the intersection. 4:25 - "G" St intersection. McPhee Elementary school is on the right just after the intersection. 6:27 - South St. intersection. Bryan Medical Center West Campus can be seen just straight ahead. 6:35 - Eastbound on South St. 8:07 - Eastbound on Sheridan Boulevard. 10:08 - Former Rock Island Railroad overpass. Now the Rock Island Bicycle Trail passes underneath. Memorial Park is on the left along the trail. 10:17 - S. 33rd & Sheridan roundabout. 10:23 - Cathedral of the Risen Christ can be seen straight ahead (north side-east of the intersection). 11:28 - S. 40th & Sheridan roundabout. 12:00 - Eastbound on Calvert St. 12:33 - S. 48th St. intersection. The former small town of College View is on the right. Union College is also on the right and down a block. 13:00 - S. 51st St. intersection.
