Seven years ago, I traveled to Cebu, Philippines, during one of the most difficult chapters of my life. I was starting over after divorce, trying to find my courage and figure out what came next.
That’s when I met Oreo. 🇵🇭❤️
She was just beginning her travel business, and I was beginning a completely new chapter of life.
Together, we went canyoneering, swam with whale sharks, hiked to waterfalls, and experienced adventures I never imagined I’d be brave enough to try.
What started as a travel connection became a beautiful friendship.
Two years ago, I returned to the Philippines, and we created even more unforgettable memories.
Now, seven years after we first met, something extraordinary happened. Through a series of unexpected changes in our plans, we found ourselves on the SAME island for ONE day!
Coincidence? Divine timing? I believe some people are meant to cross our paths.
In this 23-minute conversation, Oreo and I reflect on where we started, the challenges and adventures that shaped us, how our lives have changed, and the incredible friendships that travel can create.
This is what From Roots to Runways is all about.
For nearly 40 years, I’ve had the privilege of hearing people’s stories from behind the salon chair. Traveling the world has opened new runways, introduced me to extraordinary people, and taught me that we’re never too old to start over, discover our courage, or chase a new dream.
Thank you for being part of this journey. ❤️
I’d love to hear from you: Has someone ever come into your life at exactly the right time?
