#Verinag, the fabled source of the #Jhelum, has been celebrated for its fish and pristine waters for centuries. Mughal Emperor #Jahangir was so enchanted by the spring that he patronised its development, transforming it into a royal retreat and a cherished picnic spot. Nearly five centuries later, that legacy is under threat.
