This is my 4th ever figure skating competition, but the first one that I'm actually proud of. The score was 21.71, a personal best by nearly 3.5 points compared to last year's provincials (18.27). I placed 6th out of 13, with the 1st place being only 1.7 points higher than my score (tight competition!). The music is "In Memoriam" by Kirill Richter, also Kamila Valieva's short program music from the Olympic season. This is my second year doing the same program. Training was going much better leading up to the competition, so I had a bit more confidence this year, although I still have a lot of work to do in terms of being less scared and presenting myself better on the ice. My skating skills also have a long ways to go. I am particularly proud of the fact that for the first time ever I got points for my camel combination spin (in all previous competitions I received zero base value for it), and that I got a level 1 on my second sit spin with GoE of +1, +1, and +2 from the judges!!! Also landing my Axel and staying upright. A few stumbles and questionable moments of course, but no major mistakes. If anyone has advice for how to regain control of your muscles when you're nervous/terrified, please comment below. My legs were shaky/stiff, and by the time I got off the ice they hurt so bad from being so tense.
