Multinational enterprises and small and medium-sized enterprises in the renewable energy transition

Companies are often seen as key players in the shift to clean energy, but how do climate policies actually change what firms do? This week's coffee morning presentation by Dr Shuna Ho (UCD Quinn School of Business) draws on two research projects to explore how large multinational companies pass climate pressures on to their overseas suppliers, and how managers of small manufacturers in multiple countries make sense of renewable energy policy. The presentation examines why the resulting changes are often real but short-lived, and what policymakers and businesses can do to make them last.
