Life on Rabi Island, Fiji, 2022

Mauri! Spending six weeks on Rabi Island with the Banaban people has been the most beautiful crash course in understanding community, island life, tradition, climate change, laughter, colonialism, fishing, kava, farming, dancing, religion, singing, family, development, and humanity itself. My relationship with Rabi and the Banaban community does not end here, this is just the beginning. I am deeply grateful to the entire Rabi community for hosting me and the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade for sponsoring my program via the New Colombo Plan scholarship.
