But will it actually change anyone’s mind? For nearly 60 years, the famous 1967 Patterson-Gimlin Bigfoot film has been analyzed frame by frame. Believers see Patty as some of the strongest evidence for Bigfoot ever captured. Skeptics see a man in a suit. Now director Marq Evans’ Capturing Bigfoot is reopening the entire argument with a reel of 16mm film discovered decades later, along with new interviews involving Roger Patterson’s family, Bob Gimlin, Bob Heironimus and others connected to the story. The film is scheduled for release on October 20, 2026, the anniversary of the original Patterson-Gimlin footage. But before anyone calls the case closed, I think the new evidence deserves the same scrutiny Patty has received for decades. How do we know when the newly discovered footage was actually shot? What establishes its connection to Roger Patterson? How strong is the chain of custody? And does the figure in that footage really match what we see at Bluff Creek? I’m not a Bigfoot believer. I also don’t think skepticism means accepting a debunking just because it produces the answer you already expected. And if the comments under my other Bigfoot videos have taught me anything, it’s that both sides of this debate have gotten way too comfortable treating this like a team sport. This video isn’t about proving Patty real. It’s about whether Capturing Bigfoot should be held to the same evidentiary standard as the film it claims to challenge. Be skeptical of Patty.
