Another Echo: JAZZ | If I Had Known It Was a Dream — Aoino Shikibu

“If I Had Known It Was a Dream,” heard through another echo — JAZZ. Inspired by three waka poems about dreams by Ono no Komachi, “If I Had Known It Was a Dream” returns in a new musical world. The words remain. The longing remains. But when the music changes, the same emotions can reveal another side. This is Another Echo: Jazz. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ■ ANOTHER ECHO ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Same words. Same story. Same emotions. A different sound. “Another Echo” is a series that reimagines songs from Timeless Echoes of Japan through different musical genres. Can emotions preserved in classical Japanese poetry still resonate when they enter a completely different musical world? For this first Another Echo, “If I Had Known It Was a Dream” is reimagined through Jazz. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ■ IF I HAD KNOWN IT WAS A DREAM ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ This song was inspired by three waka poems about dreams attributed to Ono no Komachi, one of Japan’s most celebrated classical poets. To meet someone you long for only in a dream. To wake and wish you had never opened your eyes. To wait for another dream. And finally, to seek the dream itself. Three poems become one emotional journey: To dream. To wait for a dream. To seek a dream. A longing that has survived for more than a thousand years, given another voice through Jazz. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ■ ORIGINAL VERSION ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🎵 If I Had Known It Was a Dream | Aoino Shikibu    • If I Had Known It Was a Dream | Aoino Shik...   Listen to the original.
