കാറിനേക്കാൾ വലിയ കൂട് ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്ന പക്ഷി! 🚗🦅 | Nicobar Megapode Bird

Welcome to Tenet Info! 🌿 In this documentary episode, we explore the extraordinary world of the Nicobar Megapode (Megapodius nicobariensis), a rare ground-dwelling bird endemic strictly to the Nicobar Islands of India. Unlike most birds, the Nicobar Megapode never sits on its eggs. Instead, it functions as a natural civil engineer, constructing massive incubation mounds up to 10 cubic meters using coral sand, soil, and rotting leaf litter. The microbial decomposition of vegetation within the mound generates natural heat (33–35°C) to incubate the eggs safely. Once hatched, the chicks perform a miracle of nature: fully feathered, they dig out of the mound entirely on their own and possess the immediate ability to fly and forage without any parental contact or guidance. 📌 Key Highlights in This Video: The Architecture of Survival: How mound-builders harness microbial decomposition to hatch eggs . Independent Newborns: How chicks dig out through feet of soil and fly immediately after hatching . The 2004 Tsunami Impact: How the catastrophic tsunami destroyed 66% to 75% of active nesting mounds across the archipelago. Current Threats: The impact of habitat loss, coastal disturbances, invasive predators, and infrastructure developments like the Great Nicobar Mega Project near Galathea Bay. Conservation Status: Listed as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List and legally protected under Schedule I of the Indian Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972. 🔔 Subscribe to Tenet Info: If you enjoyed this wildlife documentary, hit the Like button, share it with nature enthusiasts, and subscribe to *Tenet Info* for more deeply researched wildlife, nature, and environmental stories! 🏷️ Hashtags & Keywords: `#TenetInfo` `#NicobarMegapode` `#GreatNicobar` `#IndianWildlife` `#WildlifeDocumentary` `#RareBirds` `#EndangeredSpecies` `#NicobarIslands` `#GalatheaBay` `#EcologyDocumentary`
