Playlist description:    • Chrono Trigger Low Level Run   --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The last fight I'll do for this playlist. Ocean Palace Lavos is not beatable in a low-level run on the first play-through. He's way too strong and way too fast. However, once you've got three Haste Helms (which requires two full play-throughs), he's possible to beat. These strats come straight from big_kake's guide. Ayla is the only character (other than Magus) who can survive Lavos's Destruction Rains from the Heavens, and she must be shielded to do so. The Safe Helm is out, since she needs the Haste Helm to get enough turns in. Thus most of the fight is in service of keeping Ayla alive, at full HP, and shielded. If your inputs are fast, you can consistently get in at least one Triple Kick with Ayla per round plus some passive damage from Robo's counterattacks. Lavos has 30,000 HP, so at ** Power, it takes 15-20 rounds depending on your inputs and counterattack luck. I boosted Robo and Ayla's Power to ** using Power Tab charms from the Tubsters in the Black Omen. It's not necessary, but shortens the fight. I also maxed everyone's speed, which is crucial (you could probably still win at 15 speed, but not much lower than that). Mega Elixirs can be charmed from Ruminators in the Black Omen, and Shields can be charmed from Blue Scouts and Barghests in the Ocean Palace. Last note on equipment: the GreenDream doesn't carry over to New Game Plusses, so you need to talk to the woman with the sapling prior to being evicted from 12,000 B.C., and then finish Fiona's sidequest before tackling the Ocean Palace.
