In Phoenix, Arizona, over 2,000 miles from its original home in Queens, New York, sits a fully functional fire truck that almost no living person is permitted to touch or enter. This is FDNY Rescue 4: the only heavy rescue rig from September 11, 2001, to be completely restored to working condition. The engine works, the lights turn on, but the cab remains permanently sealed as a living memorial to the 13 firefighters whose names are written on its body, including the 9 who lost their lives on Ground Zero and the 4 lost in the Father's Day fire just 86 days prior. Join us inside the Hall of Flame Museum of Firefighting as we talk with curator Tim about how Rescue 4 survived Ground Zero, spent a decade as a NYC spare rig, escaped the scrapyard, and became a timeless tribute to the FDNY's ultimate sacrifices. 📌 Visited in this video: Hall of Flame Museum of Firefighting – Phoenix, Arizona (The largest firefighting museum in the world) ⏱️ Timestamps: 0:00 - The Fire Truck No One Is Allowed to Touch 0:35 - Inside the Hall of Flame Museum 0:58 - Rescue 4: A Living Memorial from Ground Zero 1:51 - What Makes an FDNY Heavy Rescue Rig Unique? 2:56 - The History of FDNY Rescue Companies (1912–2001) 3:56 - The Damage Left on the Truck on Purpose 5:03 - The 2001 Father's Day Fire Tragedy 5:48 - September 11, 2001: Rescue 4's Final Call 6:19 - Why the Cab Stays Permanently Sealed 8:20 - What Happened to the Other 4 FDNY Rescue Rigs? 9:03 - Saved From the Scrapyard: Restoring Rescue 4 9:27 - The 13 Names Honored on Rescue 4 10:37 - Honoring FDNY's Fallen at the Hall of Flame #FDNY #Rescue4 #GroundZero #911Memorial #Firefighters #HallOfFlame #FireTruck #NYC #PhoenixArizona #911History
