Bharatanatyam Snippets - Francisco Valiente

Francisco Valiente is a Madrid-based Bharatanatyam performer, teacher, and choreographer who graduated from the prestigious Kalakshetra Foundation in Chennai, India, as a recipient of the ICCR scholarship. His training began in Madrid in 2018 under Chandrika Chinoy, whose mentorship led to his studies in India, where he trained under Smt. Prithvija Balagopalan, Smt. Sreedevi Jayakrishnan, Smt. Athena Madhu, Sree KP Rakesh, Smt. Nandini Nagaraj, and Sree Girish Madhu. While in Chennai, he performed at prominent venues including the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, the Vivekananda Cultural Center, Kaldan Samudhra Palace, and Mahabalipuram. Deeply rooted in the Kalakshetra tradition, he actively promotes Indian classical dance through stage work, structured training, and collaborations with the Embassy of India in Spain and Casa de la India in Valladolid, featured in events like India’s Independence Day and the International Day of Yoga. Beyond Madrid, he collaborates with dance companies and teachers across Barcelona and other European cities such as Paris.
