TEDxNorthernQuarter 2026 - Behind the scenes documentary | Andy Coley and Simran Whitham

Get behind the scenes with the TEDxNorthernQuarter crew as the team and speakers prepare for their moment on the red dot on the 11th September 2026. The documentary starts off on the day before at Hotel Football, when the 16 speakers arrive for their final live rehearsals and the chance to meet their speaker coaches (who they're been working with now for 8 months) in person! The rehearsals were followed by our wonderful speaker dinner, with the Deputy Mayor of Greater Manchester, Kate Green hand out certificates to the speakers. There was also a quick excursion to see the massive sign that Aimie Skillen had arranged to get displayed around the corner from Old Trafford football club... even if the tech had a blip there! Then onto the day itself, when the speakers finally arrive at Stoller Hall, in the heart of the Northern Quarter of Manchester. The team have been busy setting up from 7am, ready to kick off the event at 10am sharp. Matty White our amazing MC introduced everyone onto the stage and the speakers came out in 3 blocks, with Voices Beyond, our amazing choir forming the lunchtime entertainment. All of the speakers did amazingly well (you can see their talks at    • TEDxNorthernQuarter Talks 2026  ) and all richly deserved to grace that red dot. We closed the event with a social gathering at the local Hinterland Bar where the speakers and team could get together and celebrate another amazing TEDx event.
