Sayyid Ahmad al-Rifa'i: Caliphs, Crusaders and the Saint of the Iraqi Marshes

In 1118 the Muslim world had many masters and none of them ruled it all: a new caliph in Baghdad who commanded almost nothing, Seljuk sultans in Isfahan and Merv, crusader kings in Jerusalem, the Fatimids in Cairo, the Almoravids in the west.
