How the seed grows

This song is about the Parable that Jesus told, found in Mark 4:26-29 Verse 1 The seed is sown, the Word of life, Hidden deep, away from strife. It cannot grow by self alone, But God gives power, His work is shown. Chorus Keep my mind on Christ above, Open my heart to Spirit’s love. Rain of grace, fall down on me, Bear fruit that all the world may see. Verse 2 Germination starts unseen, Holy Spirit waters clean. Forget myself, let Christ be all, Then roots go deep, and faith stands tall. Verse 3 First the blade, so fresh and new, Hope awakens, strong and true. Cooperate with heaven’s hand, Obey His Word, and firmly stand. Verse 4 Then the ear begins to grow, Character formed as virtues show. Patience, meekness, burdened heart, For souls in need, I’ll do my part. Verse 5 Full corn ripens, shining bright, Fruits of Spirit come to light. Love and joy, long-suffering too, Christ’s own likeness shining through. Final Chorus Keep my mind on Christ above, Open my heart to Spirit’s love. Rain of grace, fall down on me, Bear fruit for all eternity.
