Fairly KickAss Podcast - One Song: Counting Crows

Were you listening to music in the 1990s? What about the 2000s? (Technically 2010s and 2020s, but not like... I mean, you'll see.) If you were, then you know exactly who this band is. Not only that, but the moment I mention the name of the band, you will have a song in your head. WHICH song? Well, that's kinda the whole thing that we're doing. This is the latest episode in our patient-not-pending One Song series, where we take an artist's complete discography and find the best of the bunch. Think of the catalog like a bouquet of roses: most look and smell great, a few are rotten, but there's always one that you can pick out. And each of the three of us did just that with the discography of the Counting Crows. We tend to pick great artists for this series, and this episode is no different. First three albums went platinum. Two Grammy noms, for Best New Artist (won by Sheryl Crow, fine); and Round Here, nominated for [inhales] Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal (won by Aerosmith's Crazy, it's like the fifth-best song of the five-song field but whatever). But the important question is: which jam of all of their best is the very best, the really-really-good diamond in the bag of diamonds? Did one of us nail it, or were we all off?
