Cyriak: The Man Who Made The Internet Weird

Cyriak is one of the most distinctive animators the internet has ever produced. For more than two decades, his work has turned ordinary animals, people, buildings and everyday footage into some of the strangest, funniest and most unsettling animation online. This video is my shot at breaking down that style, how Cyriak actually creates these impossible worlds, and why his work has remained so instantly recognizable for so long. Most importantly: please support Cyriak and his work directly. Cyriak's official website: https://cyriak.co.uk/animation/ Cyriak's YouTube channel:    / @cyriak   A huge amount of the material discussed and shown in this video comes from Cyriak Harris's original work. All animations, artwork and other Cyriak material remain the work of Cyriak Harris and their respective rights holders. I claim no ownership over his work. This video is intended as a documentary, analysis and appreciation of Cyriak's career and animation. Clips are presented in the context of discussing the specific works, techniques, history and ideas being examined. Cyriak deserves far more credit than I could possibly give him in a single video. His work helped define an entire corner of internet animation, and making this documentary only made me appreciate the amount of time, technical skill and sheer creativity behind it even more. If you enjoyed anything you saw here, please go watch the original animations from Cyriak himself. The originals are the reason this video can exist.
