A fast express and an all-stations local still cannot share a railway if the local is stuck at a red signal — priorities decide who goes first; passing loops decide whether anyone can overtake. This Transport Fever 3 scenario breakdown covers the announced priority and reservation tools, station passing loops, busy approaches, and single-track signalling. Four layouts: shared main line, pass-at-the-station, busy station approaches, and single-track opposing traffic. I have not played TF3 — proposed layouts and expected outcomes are analysis, not hands-on test results. The day-one test plan: equal priorities → express priority → station passing → higher frequency until it breaks. Which should we test first after access: a station overtake, or a busy single-track branch?
