Recorded March 20, 2018 Presented by Kevin Supak, Fluids and Machinery Engineering Department, Mechanical Engineering Division, Southwest Research Institute Replicating field conditions for flow assurance experiments often presents many challenges. These challenges are usually centered on designing an experiment with appropriately scaled geometry, selecting the test conditions, and reproducing the operating environment, all while balancing the cost associated with the project. This presentation provides an overview of techniques that have been utilized at Southwest Research Institute to study gas hydrate formation in flowing conditions from a variety of scenarios relevant to hydrocarbon production and transport. Images, video, and data will be presented from different experiments to display the complexity of hydrate testing, as well as recently used techniques to study deposition processes. This webinar is presented for educational purposes only; no endorsements are implied.
