On September 16 and 17, the Delta ISB hosted an emerging climate science symposium at the Putah Creek Lodge at UC Davis. The symposium explored the current climate projections for the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, related uncertainties, and how the current state of climate science is being integrated into decision-making in the Delta. Agenda 6. Panel: State of Science to Support Long-range Planning Dr. Lisa Wainger of the Delta ISB moderated a panel discussion that explores the relevance and applicability of the material presented earlier in the day to current work in the Delta region. Panelists reflected on how the cutting-edge climate science and modeling approaches can be integrated into long range planning, including mitigation and adaptation. Panelists were: a) Dr. Dan Cayan, University of California, San Diego b) Dr. Mike Dettinger, University of California, San Diego c) Dr. Stefan Talke, California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo d) Romain Maendly, California Department of Water Resources e) Liz Crosson, Metropolitan Water District of Southern California 7. Open Forum & Wrap Up The Delta ISB will provide an opportunity for participants who are not presenting to share their cutting-edge work or how they are integrating the latest science in their work.
