The Gold Ganpati of Diveagar & a Very Late Lunch | Konkan Ep 2

I drove from Raigad down to Diveagar, a quiet beach village on the Konkan coast, to see Suvarna Ganesh: a Ganpati made of gold. This is Episode 2 of my Konkan Ganeshotsav series. The original gold Ganpati was found buried on a farm here in 1997. It was stolen in 2012 and melted down, and was recast from the recovered gold and returned to the temple in 2021. After the temple came Diveagar beach, and then a problem: every restaurant I tried was shut. Lunch turned into a hunt, until I finally found a pomfret thali.
