This weekend marked the annual Lansdale Founders Day Festival in Lansdale, PA, and the New Hope & Ivyland Railroad would be running excursion trains along the Bethlehem Branch to and from Souderton on Sunday. This year, the train consisted of four coaches, including an Open Air Car, and was powered by Pennsylvania Northeastern SD40-2W 5342 and GP9RM 7010. I was able to see the 10AM, 11:30, and 1PM runs at various spots along the line. Please enjoy! To start off, I set up at the North Cannon Avenue crossing in Lansdale to get my first shot of the train shortly after it departed from the station. I then moved over to the South Main Street/Route 463 crossing in the borough of Hatfield, which has been upgraded with brand new signals since I was here last year. I next saw the train at Bergey Road in Hatfield Township. For the return trip back to Lansdale, I would catch the train at Township Line Road, Union Street in the borough of Hatfield, and 8th Street in Lansdale. After stopping at a nearby McDonalds for lunch, I returned to the Bethlehem Branch for the 11:30 train. I would see this train at West Orvilla Road in Hatfield Township before moving over to Souderton to see it pulling into the station. After waiting a few minutes the train would begin its journey back east. I filmed the train departing Souderton, then beat it to the West Vine Street crossing in the borough of Hatfield. I was also able to see it back at North Cannon Avenue. For the 1PM train, I had already seen it nearly everywhere I wanted by this point, so I went straight over to Union Street so I could get a good look at the pedestrian lights in action as the train passed by. After this, I went back to the South Main Street crossing and did a little bit of walking on the trails while waiting for the train to start heading back east. Once it did, I would get my final shot of the train before beginning my journey home.
