Fine Tuning Gang Ripper on Woodmaster

This was our first time running it. We were ripping 4/4 Ash boards that are rough-sawn so about 1 1/16 thick plus typical cupping. This thickness was pushing the limit on the 1 1/8" capacity of the gang ripper especially on a new machine that needs the rollers "stretched" a little bit. Although we ordered the 6 1/2" blades today we still thought we would push the envelope so we braced the machine and then had at it. It got easier and better with every rip just like the Woodmaster Tech folks said it would. We ripped both edges of 12 Ash boards in just a few minutes and the machine didn't even break a sweat. We will still replace the 5 1/2" blades with the 6 1/2" when they arrive so it is less effort on the 1 1/16" hardwoods we frequently use but then can also rip some 1 1/2" stuff we have coming up.
