The lakes in Nainital compound the beauty of the quaint hillstation in the heart of the Himalayas. The town itself takes its name from the Naini Lake, which is the most popular lake located at the very centre of Nainital. The beauty of the lakes here, with their deep green-blue waters set against the majestic backdrop of mist-covered peaks, attracts thousands of tourists to the hill station throughout the year. The crystal-clear waters of the Nainital lakes are popular for a number of different activities. While the natural beauty of the forest-clad water bodies offers wonderful photographic opportunities for the shutterbugs, the lakes are also popular for their bird population, and are visited by birdwatchers from around the world. The lakes also offer a lovely locale for boating and yachting. Anglers and fishing enthusiasts also frequent the lakes of Nainital for the fishing opportunities that they offer. Pannatal, also known as Garurtal, is one of the seven lakes of Sattal in Uttarakhand, India. गरुड़ताल, भीमताल, उत्तराखण्ड यह छोटी सी ताल है और इसका पानी बहुत ही साफ़ है। स्थानीय लोगों का कहना है कि इस झील के पास पांडवों के वनवास के दौरान द्रौपदी ने अपनी रसोई बनाई थी। द्रौपदी द्वारा इस्तेमाल किये जाने वाले सिल-बट्टा आज भी यहाँ पर पत्थरों के रूप में मौजूद है। स्थानीय लोगों की ऐसी मान्यता है कि इस पूरे इलाके में पांडव अपने वनवास के दौरान रहे थे। नलदमयंतीताल के पश्चात छोटा गरुड़ ताल पड़ता है। गरुड़ ताल हमें सड़क से ही दिखाई पड़ रहा था। कुमाऊँ की घाटियों के बीच, ऊंचे ऊंचे वृक्षों से घिरा, यह नीले हरे रंग का ताल बहुत सुन्दर दिखाई पड़ रहा था। लोगों का मानना है कि वनवास के समय, भोजन बनाने हेतु द्रौपदी द्वारा इस्तेमाल किया गया सिलबट्टा अभी भी यही पत्थरों में कहीं उपस्थित है। गरुड़ ताल के पश्चात, आपस में जुड़ीं राम, सीता एवं लक्ष्मण ताल पड़ते हैं। इन तालों तक सड़क मार्ग उपलब्ध ना होने के कारण, इन तक नौकाओं द्वारा ही पहुंचा जा सकता है| इन सारे तालों के चारों ओर भ्रमण का मेरा अनुभव मेरे लिए उपचारात्मक एवं बहुत शान्तिदायक था। हमारे पूर्वजों ने जिस तरह प्रकृति के सानिध्य में जीवन बिताया, मैंने भी उस जीवन का प्रत्यक्ष अनुभव इन झीलों के भ्रमण द्वारा प्राप्त किया। मुझे आभास हुआ कि क्यों ऋषि मुनि इन पहाड़ों व झीलों के सानिध्य में ध्यान करते थे। एक ओर हरियाली भरे मैदान तो दूसरी ओर शांत हिमालय! यह स्वर्ग है। गरुड़ - यह भगवान विष्णु का वाहन हैं। भगवान गरूड़ को विनायक, गरुत्मत्, तार्क्ष्य, वैनतेय, नागान्तक, विष्णुरथ, खगेश्वर, सुपर्ण और पन्नगाशन नाम से भी जाना जाता है। जातक कथाओं में भी गरूड़ के बारे में कई कहानियां हैं। Location- Garur Tal Bhowali Range, Uttarakhand 263136 https://maps.google.com/?q=Garur+Tal%...
